All I got to date were general warnings about not doing it like that, with some vague historical references, and because basically everybody 
is doing it in some undocumented, de facto standard way. Because it is all very complex.

And then tools like getmail come up, which do not really fit in the undocumented model, and people use them nevertheless.

I have yet to see a reason *why* not to bounce later on.

Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate your help. And there is probably one good reason. Or even many. It's just that I haven't seen or 
understood it yet.

So, if I am to buy your bridge, I want to know why it is built like that. Laughing at me might not actually shed the best light upon you.
