[binc] Troubleshoting bincimap

Hello:

I replaced courier-imap more than a month ago and I have no significant
troubles since then. I am running bincimap by daemontools. Yesterday, the
imap service was not working, I could not get an imap dialog using telnet
0 143. I stoped, started and restarted bincimap and nothing changed.
Curiously, imaps was working, I could have the imap dialog using openssl
in the same server and the only difference between the run scripts is the
--ssl option.

After a reboot bincimap worked again normally. Yet I don't know what
happened, the bincimap logs doesn't give any light.

My question is: is there any other way to test bincimap so I don't have to
reboot my server (which obviusly must be the last resort)?

Any hint will be appreciated.
