You can use the cached driver that implements the expunge for the POP3 
driver (however, you have to work with a temporary cache).

What you noticed make me think that it will be interesting (and 
it is technically possible) to implement the expunge in the non-cached 
driver.

You can enable the cache by setting the flag to '1' when creating the 
storage and by setting a directory for the flags and an other directory 
for the cache.
