copy without formatting

I have Mahogany set up to display my email with the fonts and colors I prefer. Quite nice. BUT When I copy text from an email, I really want just the text, without *any* formatting. Indeed, I cannot recall a single time when I've wanted to copy the formatting. What I've been having to do is copy from Mahogany into my text editor and then into the target application. Can I somehow tell Mahogany to ignore the formatting when I copy text? If not, can this please be an enhancement request?
