Hi,
well I took maildrop out of the Fetchmal config, and started looking at 
how Fetchmail
Exim4 and Dovecot work together and see there, Maildrop.log in each 
user's home
directory and it seems to be working perfectly. Seems like Exim4 had the 
correct config
set up, but Maildrop was not installed. I have one copy, and I installed 
that via apt
last week.

Very strange.

Next step look at local delivery where possible, and filtering with 
maildrop. And, yes,
it does seem to be using the .mailfilter files correctly for each user.
