There is a way to send a message to specific lists, and it's email.

Your lists are defined by addresses in your /etc/aliases 
(or /etc/mail/aliases) file.  A list with the name of foo, for example,
will have an alias that pipes the email to the wrapper program:

foo: "|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper resend -l foo foo,nobody"
(This is just an example, and may not work - my configuration uses a
set of aliases for security.)

You'd then send a message to the list by emailing [email protected].
