Right.  That is an indication of misdesigned or broken greylist software. 
Once the sender retries, any sensible greylisterer whitelists the IP. 
Only the very primitive greylisters fail to whitelist.

Trust me, it's not.  Any mailing list that goes out through qmail, for 
example, uses VERP per-message bounce addresses.  MJ2's behavior is 
completely standard conformant and quite normal.

The envelope sender is not a header.

Really, I am very familiar with SMTP software, and am equally familiar 
with greylisting.  (I think I am still the only person ever to publish a 
peer-reviewed paper on the topic.)  If you think it's a problem that your 
greylist software needlessly delays mail, the solution is to fix the 
greylist software.  It's not hard.
