Since I've recently taken over the main role of maintainership of the postgresql.org's Mj2 server from Marc Fournier, I've been looking at the code due to some things I've discovered -- and considering hacking it a bit here and there. (For instance, I noticed a memory leak and file descriptor leak in mj_queuerun. Also, one of the Readline libraries causes mj_shell to die pretty quickly due to "insecure dependency" or some such). Perhaps the Digest::SHA1 -> Digest::SHA change would be the first of a small list of changes I would consider doing and publishing. Perhaps if the majordomo2.org domain goes to Marc we could consider re-publishing new releases there, under new maintainership. If we're to do anything, maybe the first step would be to consider migrating the CVS repo to git. Seeing the number of followups in this thread, it seems clear that the reason development is stalled is just that it works well enough -- not that there is no interest. --=20 =C3=81lvaro Herrera <[email protected]>
