You want to spend time looking at your preferences.  On my linux system
the menu path is File->Preferences.

For 1, you can have Mulberry remember your password or use GSSAPI.  Of
course if you use GSSAPI that assumes that the email server you are
connecting to supports GSSAPI connections and that your login creates
a Kerberos ticket cache.  On systems where I have to use
username/password authentication I just enter the password everytime.
Saving a copy of a password in an application is just such a bad idea
that I never do it.

For 2, I don't know anything about Windo$e alerts or the epos
software.  There are preferences settings in Mulberry that control
alerts though.

For 3, this is again set in preferences and is dependent on the
support that your smtp and mailbox server provide.
