So this is the final verdict on Mulberry.  Too much to do to bring it
up to date.  And, of course, once it is up to date, it would take a
continuing commitment to keep it that way.

The lack, I suspect is a benefactor with deep pockets, willing to not
look at the short term, or possibly even long term.  Mozzilla couldn't
keep even keep it up.  Thunderbird is no longer under active
development even though it is still possible to get Daily builds.
That means Postbox is done too.  So, who besides The Bat, is still
under active development?  Anybody?  Chaos Intellect, Becky.  They
still get a brush stroke once in a while, like Thunderbird.

The sad news is that none of them come close to being what Mulberry
was.
