I have used Mulberry for ages and ages. Because of its imminent demise, 
I've been learning and 
using Thunderbird in parallel with Mulberry for about a year.

Thunderbird can do most things that Mulberry can do, but it is clumsy, 
slow, and more difficult to control. In the parts I use the most, e.g. 
the "reply" command or the "move to some folder" operation, Thunderbird 
is terribly inflexible and makes me long for Mulberry every time I 
process a message.

The configuration for Thunderbird is so awful it makes me cringe. After 
a year of exploring and reading documentation and searching the web I 
still have not been able to figure out how to enlarge the size of the 
font that Thunderbird uses to show me the messages in a folder.
