That is one that is currently missing in native TB, but there has been for a long time: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/send-filter/ Oh... you don't like Addons - well, the good news is this feature is now done, and will be in the next release (38) coming in the next few weeks. Also, in TB you can define what folder to use for your Sent folder, or tell it to save the Sent copy in the same folder as the one you are replying to (useful if you use filters for everything)... > The best idea, for me, is to be able to choose a storage folder for > outgoing messages before sending. I'm trying to think of a way that might work that wouldn't irritate me to no end, but no luck - how do you envision this working exactly without getting in your way all the time? I send a lot of emails in a day. > And as for addons, they don't count, because they are often broken by > the next TB version. <sigh> more FUD... I currently have 43 Addons installed in my personal TB, and I couldn't tell you the last time I had a problem with *any* of them, with one occasional exception... the 'Unified Search' Addon, and that one is easy to fix when necessary, and it is important enough to me to do so. The fact is, as long as you research, and only install Addons from trusted sources after making sure they work properly, you will generally have no problems with them whatsoever.
