Yeah, LDAP is a pain in TB, but work is/will be happening to greatly
improve that.

so you can choose which ones are on/off, BUT... this shows the number of
items in ALL folders. I didn't find a way to do it natively, only for
select folders, but...

There is an excellent Addon called QuickFolders that provides a toolbar
for quick access to favorite/frequently used folders, and does allow you
to do this for Folders that you have added to the Quickfolders toolbar,
so you could add the Deleted Items to the toolbar, then enable this option:

I don't use threaded view, but TB does have right-click > 'Open Message

TB also has Threaded View (View > 'Sort by' > Threaded), which shows all
messages as threads. You'll probably also want to show this column in
the Message list pane.

There is also an Addon called 'Thunderbird Conversations' that adds some
functionality:

Maybe toggling:

mail.identity.default.autocompleteToMyDomain does what you want?

This adds the domain for your default account/identity set at:

Tools > 'Account Settings' (whichever one is at the top).

Not sure what you mean here...

Not sure about this, never experienced but maybe a bug. Is is consistent
which accounts it works/doesn't work for?

I don't use it, but maybe 'Mail Redirect' Addon does what you want:

Yeah, there is a lot of work going on right now for things like this...
the underlying issues are hard to fix (require a lot of work), but it is
actually being addressed now...

I'm just a very long time and happy TB user...
