Fedora Core 3 breaks Neomail

Hello,

After attempting to install Neomail on a server freshly installed 
with Fedora Core 3 it seems there is an incompatibility with the 
latest version of Perl/Setuid - Ernie has taken a look and I have 
included a copy his comments below, but basically the return value 
from checklogin.pl is not being passed back to neomail.pl and 
therefore users cannot login (password failed error).

If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this please let me know!!!

I took a look at your system and here's what I found.

Your current install of suidperl incorporates a patch that looks to 
be from a fellow named Paul Szabo that adds certain checks to the way 
suidperl functions and funnels suid scripts through a file descriptor 
for parsing.

My best guess is that because NeoMail is opening the checklogin 
script as a file descriptor already in order to pass it parameters 
via STDIN, there is a conflict between this and the new suidperl 
code. The simplest solution is to downgrade to a slightly older 
version of perl, before this patch. Changes to the NeoMail code could 
also be made.
