How does one enable SMTP Authentication in your Email client with Neomail?

I am trying to use NeoMail on my server to send mail.   The mail keeps getting bounced back I am assuming because "enabling SMTP Authentication in your Email client" has not been done with NeoMail.  How do I do this?
