symlinks for configuration files

Hi,

I use stow to manage all my configuration files in /etc/ , however
nullmailer does not seem to like them :


nullmailer: nullmailer-send: Error: Could not read config file
"/etc/nullmailer/remotes": Permission denied


Is there any reason for this, as almost all other configuration files
for other programs work well with symlinks?
