I know about procmail and have a set of extensive procmail rules since
ages : http://sax.iasf-milano.inaf.it/~lucio/Procmail/

but I do not want to remove all quoted lines. I want to keep messages
which do proper quoting (snip uninteresting part and keep only those to
which they reply) and clean those who have the entire original message
quoted at the end.

As I said, I won't trust procmail (and specially a rule written by me) to
do this irreversible change correctly, also procmail is not very good in
processing a message in non-sequential way.

If the above statement means not to trust an irreversible change at
delivery time, I agree. That's why a was looking for a pine solution at
save time. I look a message, find it has been quoted badly, and
save-with-cleanup.

If instead you mean it's a good idea to quote the entire message you are
replying to in any reply, I regard that as an extremely bad idea.
Searching the original message by subject or content is extremely easy in
pine with its search facility !
