And that then got mangled by an MTA which enforces 7bit on mails that
aren't encoded. (The rest of the mail was fine though, due to QP.)

Of course. Just /usr/X11R6/bin/uxterm will do fine too, by the way.

Sort of. I have patched some stuff in the MirPorts Framework to make
it adhere to our standards, fix bugs, and support login typed for BSD
auth in e.g. imapd (so people can use it with S/Key), but as for utf-8
support I was hoping for Alpine. I'll look at this patch though.
