I totally agree. I was just looking for a simple way to organize my messages from various mailing lists into folders. One problem I have having done so is that I have to check the folders manully to see if there are any new messages there. Forgive me for asking - is there a way in pine to be notified that a given folder contains new mail (like that they are displayed in bold or whatever)?
