whoa. i was pleasantly surprised by a few things on the alpine page:

cool! i know lots of free-as-in-freedom people will be excited about the
apache license. as a patch writer, i'm more interested in the refactoring. is
"pith/" a C utility library/portability layer, similar to apache's APR?
more importantly, can you say what the long-term plans for alpine vs. pine
are? will the unix command-line client eventually replace pine? if not, what
will their relationship be?
sorry for the barrage of questions. this is a big development, so i'm very
curious.
