You want to filter email, but do not want to run SpamAssassin because the computer is slow. However, as discussed in prior postings, Pine's filtering is slower and more CPU intensive than, say, procmail. I cannot speak about SpamAssassin, as I do not run it. But I do run procmail. While Pine's filtering comes in handy post-delivery, I think you may find procmail (which can be installed and ran by a local user) will do the job of filtering incoming email quicker and with less CPU cycles. Procmail is PRE-delivery and does not "plug" into Pine, as far as I know. Just my thought. Hope it helps. Thanks Birl --- Please do not CC me responses to my own posts.
