I am impressed with the support of Pine, even older
versions. So I was wondering why older versions of Pine
are still offered for use, & even supported to the major
extent they are. Obviously with upgrades, bug fixes,
patches, it appears older versions would not be
desirable, the latest prefered. And Pine upgrades are
not expensive. Changing out, replacing/upgrading, the
older version is not difficult.

Is there a functional difference that an older version
would be prefered? Other than the valid argument I
found concerning DOS, the memory limit, where v3.96 is
prefered for that reason.
