Removed spaces and/or periods in a textual match?

Hmm, I noticed this both in pine and alpine I did a text search for FROM "sko", and it matched From: Nicolas Kowalski <[email protected]> (who is on this mailing list). It seems like it must have removed the space in the real name and/or the dot in the email address to complete that match. Both seem wrong to me.
