new messages across folder collections

Dear list I'm new to pine and hope this is the right place to ask such questions ... Until now I did server side filtering of my mails. I often have unread mails in arbitrary folders. Hitting <TAB> navigates only through new mails in the current index, correct? Is there a way to navigate to new mails across folders and folder collections?
