OK so you tend to use SSH for tunneling. I mentioned WireGuard because
my research indicates it has much better performance due to it being a
kernel module, running over UDP (which avoids TCP-over-TCP issues) and
also supporting multithreading. But aside from the VPN protocol used,
the split tunnel concept should be the same.
