That is correct. 

As I am using the default default_cache_db_type for postscreen_cache_map it is still at 'btree':

mail> postconf | grep postscreen_cache_map
postscreen_cache_map = $default_cache_db_type:$data_directory/postscreen_cache

mail> postconf | grep default_cache_db_type
default_cache_db_type = btree

mail> ls -al /var/db/postfix/*

I am quite confident that Wietse will come up with a solution for both lmdb versions in the future.

Until then I will stick with cdb for my static tables and leave default_cache_db_type at its default.
