according to half this group, I (as a contractor for another company)
can install modified binaries on a clients server. According to the
other half, I can't, unless I manually patch and download and compile on
the actual client server.

his page tells me to contact him when:
- in doubt
- to discuss other licensing specifications (I am even willing to pay a
  reasonable license fee)
