What if I'm an OS vendor, and don't want or need sendmail compatibility? 
Presumably Dan believes vanilla qmail configuration is superior to 
/etc/aliases/.forward - why foist the inferior version on the masses?

[Just musing, don't expect a useful answer. If we're lucky, Dan will one 
day relax his condition....]
