serialsmtp: fatal: network read error: timed out

Hi!

I use serialmail package on Gentoo to send my outgoing mail to ISP server.

Few days ago I moved my email setup to friend's qmail server which uses
SSL/plain auth on 465 port.

When I try to empty my spool folder I get the following error:

tcpclient: connected to x.x.x.x port 465
serialsmtp: fatal: network read error: timed out
tcpclient: connected to x.x.x.x port 465
serialsmtp: fatal: network read error: timed out
tcpclient: connected to x.x.x.x port 465
serialsmtp: fatal: network read error: timed out
maildirserial: fatal: making no progress, giving up

serialmail is patched for SMTP auth (Gentoo patches).

When I try to send from e.g. Kmail to the same server (same username & passwd),
everything works, so it's something with serialmail.

Any idea what can be wrong?
