Interesting. Do you have the original logfile that pertains to this
problem? It's unusual that a message got lost. Do you have a file called
"ASK-FATAL*" in your home directory?

1, 5 and 10.

If you send me log files, please use 10 whenever possible. It provides
me more data to diagnose the problem.

A cron job would do! Just do something like:

tail -1000 ask.log >/tmp/whatever.log
mv /tmp/whatever.log ask.log

Run it once a week or so.
