IMHO [email protected] wants to reduce the amount of email ASK is sending: 1. No need to send a check-message when a virus/worm is found. 2. No need to send a check-message when the sender-address is obvioulsy broken. (2.) is done by the mailserver the moment the foreign mailserver starts sending the message. According to the check-results the mail will be accepted for further delivery or deleted quitely. (1.) is a delivery-step (before involving ASK).
