Yes indeed, and who was it who first informed me of this? CBL!!

In any case, "prevention is better than cure"!

My mail server is used for business purposes and having work-related
emails bounced causes delay and inconvenience (which translates to
loss of revenue). To eventually find out that this has happened
because of a flaw in ASK that has been known about for at least 9
months but not exactly dealt with or very well publicised is a little
disappointing to say the least.

Perhaps I'm sounding harsh, ungrateful and churlish and I'm sorry for
that. But the bottom line is, everyone using ASK's SMTP verification
function at the moment is in danger of being identified as a spammer
and consequently will have all mail blacklisted by any ISP that uses
CBL, of which there are many.
