from my point of view it *shall* be @bindir@/crm114, because anything
else ruins `make install`, probably making some compatibility symlinks
in the case bindir=./bin so people who use it directly from the
builddir can still use it that way without running `make install`

I fully prefer your layout.... but, is it possible to "merge" those
changes into the "mainline" crm114?

Thanks! removing the -pg worked... no more gmon.out messages

but I still have the third issue (empty output)... even when running
it as root. Is this "expected"? Any known size limit?

crm returns 1 and no output, so I had to write a wrapper to be sure
the mails are delivered even if crm crashes. I couldn't find any error
using `strace` :-(
