Forget it, my good man. The very latest publicly available vanilla
still goes kerplunk on this. (Though my sample test code doesn't
trigger the run-away Zend, which once took a little more nudging to
make it happen.)

The only one which survives this (of course) is any recent GerH
release (after oct/2008, that is; earlier versions, I'm not 100% sure
about - don't remember if I took up the courage back then to start
reporting vanilla bugs again, or ran into something I uncovered in
GerH to start with).
