I have recently set up my exchange and in the beginning it was open =
relay.

Now I have sorted theses issues.

I use ntl and as you have asked not to write email to ask removal from =
your liste which is fair enough, I wanted to go for the following =
procedure:

The removal addresses do not point to my domain!


Just because you do not see your own domain name in the list of removal =
addresses does not mean you cannot delist yourself.

For example, you might normally be using "your-domain.com", but reverse =
DNS points to something like "127-0-0-1.dsl.your-isp.net".

DSBL may present the following removal addresses:

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]


Service providers often set reverse DNS to "ugly" hostnames that are =
informative only in a generic way. If your provider is willing to change =
reverse DNS entries for you, you could have them set it to something in =
your domain, such as "mail.your-domain.com", which would make both the =
hostname and the parent domain available as removal addresses. However, =
this may take additional time and effort on your part. If you have fixed =
the security problem and are in a hurry, a configuration change to your =
mail server will be needed.

In the example above, the first and third addresses (if shown; see =
below) will deliver directly to your mail server, not to your ISP, per =
standard SMTP procedure. All you need to do is teach your mail server =
software to treat "127-0-0-1.dsl.your-isp.net" as an inbound domain =
equivalent to "your-domain.com" for which it should accept mail. Make =
sure that at least "[email protected]" works from =
outside your system (like a Yahoo or Hotmail account) and delivers to an =
account you can read. Also ensure that you do not have any spam or virus =
filters operating on that account. Ensure that you can receive AND READ =
mail sent to this account BEFORE requesting DSBL removal.

If addresses like #1 and #3 above do not appear, it means that the =
reverse DNS points to a hostname (A record) that does not exist. Without =
a matching A record, no mail can be delivered to the hostname specified =
in reverse DNS.
