Why is it so important? Because this is the default driver for Debian, Ubuntu and compatible distros. That means that basically, out of the box, dspam does not work as it should.

I have deep C and C++  knowledge but first I would need to understand what the exact problem is ;-).

And no, mysql can't be the default driver. It would introduce too many dependancies, it's harder ton install, etc.

PS On a personal point of view, i gave up with the hash driver and installed the mysql one. Like everybody else, I believe.
