Further to this, I have just re-sent the email in question, this time
removing the included "http://www.spamcop.net/sc?*" URL from the body
text of the email in question.

No rejection message this time from AOL and it therefore appears that
both this latest transmission attempt has been accepted, and that my
hypothesis above is likely to be correct.
