I was once an early arrival at a scene in which the passenger car and
occupants were sheared off at about the level of the hood of the car by
speeding under the rear end of a highway stopped truck whose steel bed
was about the level of the hood.  Very very gory.  Resembled a
convertible full of half torsos.

I also once watched a speeding motorcycle rider approaching a flat bed
truck almost stopped across several lanes of the highway like you
described and the bike rider laid it down and he and the bike went
screeching under, clipping one handlebar but not his hand which he had
gotten out of the way of the spare truck tire and rack slung under the
truck's bed.

Except for a lot of roadburn, and a seriously damaged bike, the rider
was not badly hurt, he and broken bike emerging from the other side of
the truck blocking the road after passing underneath.
