Try to 'sideways' aim your sliding mass toward the part of the truck
that has the most clearance under - I'm sure the oncoming spare tire
rack looked really ugly.

Someone else told me a lay your bike down story they did, but I can't
remember the particulars right now.


My biggest bike collision was speeding down a beach at night with my
headlights off by the light of the moon reflecting off the wet sand at
the edge of the water - which seemed like a perfectly good [actually
'necessary'] thing to be doing at the time - and I never saw the log on
just on the dry side of the wet sand.

The bike stopped at the log, well mostly stopped.  Kinda went over
slowly behind me in the order of seat, rear wheel, front wheel - where
that bike order is naturally upside down.  I however continued at
approximately the same speed over the handlebars and over the log to
land way over yonder.  But, the sand was soft and I wasn't hurt.
