If you have gif_lib.h somewhere then you might be able to compile if you
tweak CPPFLAGS and LDFLAGS when you run configure.  It may be that the
system has the libungif libraries installed but not the headers.

If you find gif_lib.h in /usr/local/include you could run configure like
this:

CPPFLAGS=/usr/local/include LDFLAGS=/use/local/lib ./configure

If you don't have a gif_lib.h anywhere then you might need to compile
libungif yourself and install it somewhere that you have write access.
