I would be also interested in continuation of that project and could spend some
time on development by myself. The original project has about 10 developers registered, but
there seems to be no one maintaining a project plan, or doing some sort of active development.

Are there any others interested in developing the project? I'd suggest to meet in IRC to talk about that.
