If it breaks HTML4 validation but nothing else, then I wouldn't mind adding it. However, Paul mentioned in the discussion in thread "Changing STABLE DOCTYPE?" that a <!DOCTYPE html> DTD can be added to the new scheme easily. Is that still the case?
