Open functions/i18n.php and find the Spanish translation settings and change the charset there. It should be around line 863 and 864. Specifically: $languages['es_ES']['CHARSET'] = 'utf-8'; $languages['es_ES']['LOCALE'] = array('es_ES.UTF-8','es_ES.UTF8','es_ES'); However, in order to change the translation to unicode, we're going to have to convert all of the plugin translations in our repository to utf-8 also.
