I never heard / saw this, though I follow about 10 groups very regularly.
Can you take a look at the output from the debug version (search the
claws/win32 homepage for "debug") and the log window (from the tools menu)
if there is a wrong group selected or anything similar?

You can also check the updated claws23-1 (also needs updated DLL pack),
there was at least a change in claws11 regarding the display of newsgroup
folders and headers.

Do you have any special setup (e.g. using Hamster, etc.)?
