Ok, thank you.  I'll have to figure out how this works.  By the way, it
would be *really* convenient if I could switch accounts within the
Selective DL dialog, instead of having to close it, switch, etc.  I
think it would also be nice to display the current account in there.

In the past, I've used two Perl scripts to fetch and deal with POP3
mail. The fetch script adds two headers, X-POP-Server and X-POP-Uidl, to
the incoming message.

Another script, nuke.pl, takes a message that's piped to it, finds
these headers, and adds the UIDL to a file named <server>.dmfs.

The fetcher script also looks for <server>.dmfs when it connects to
<server>, and deletes all messages whose UIDLs are on that server.

In this way, I can delete messages from the POP3 server easily.  I've
used this approach successfully with mutt, Gnus, and a few others.  I
could easily create an action for nuke.pl to mark the message for
deletion.  I'm uneasy about using my fetching script in place of
Claws's native mail fetching.  For one thing, how would the various
.sylpheed files (cache, etc.) get updated?  For another, my script
doesn't do SSL, so I'd have to have a tunneler running for that.  (No
doubt someone already has a perl mechanism for talking to an
SSL-protected server.)

Any comments on this?  I've only been using Claws for a few weeks, so
I'm still a newbie.
