You have to edit the sylpheed.reg before importing it :
Set "InstalledDir" to where you installed the binaries
(e.g. "c:\\program files\\sylpheed")
set "HomeDir" to the location of your data directories
(e.g. c:\\documents and settings\\application data\\YOURNAME)

Watch the double backslashes!

By setting the registry key to the -correct- value (see above).

Or by using the installer: If you select e.g. "d:\data" as the
homedir, Sylpheed will use "d:\data\.sylpheed" for settings
and "d:\data\Mail" as the default mailbox location.

Either start from a clean config (no .sylpheed directory) or
remove following keys from your .sylpheed\sylpheedrc:
  enable_aspell=
  aspell_path=
  dictionary=

I just saw that the first version that handles those plugins
correctly is 0.8.11claws23-1 (this version needs the updated
DLL pack, which can be downloaded from the homepage as well).
There is now a versions.txt in the plugin download directory
that shows which versions to use.
