Thanks, Thorsten. I should have mentioned that I did to a "rebuild folder tree" immediately before this. In fact, this folder didn't exist the last time I ran Sylpheed-Claws. So this found the new folder, but not the messages in it. Shouldn't that have found all the messages, old and new? As I mentioned, re-creating the folder from Windows (rather than Cygwin), copying the messages into it, and then running "Rebuild folder tree" again solved the problem, but I'm wondering what the issue was in the first place.
