I figured out how to turn off the notification sounds. In Device Manager=
,>Sound>Sound tab, it's not enough to turn off all the individual sounds=
, but also set the Sound Scheme at the top to No Sounds.=20

I haven't found how to stop the notification popup banner for emails, bu=
t they serve a purpose and are more tolerable w/o the sound.=20
