charter.com seems to use Microsoft's servers for hosting e-mail (not Google's, so gmail working has nothing to do with Charter), so you should check their instructions for setting up an e-mail client (incoming and outgoing server settings, authentication). Note that The Bat 6 might be too old to work with modern authentication.
