For years I have had spamassassin mark spam with the asterisks and the word spam in the subject. I have a condition in sieve that catches this. Of course, all the mail marked this way also have the header "spam=Yes" which is also in my filter. Every night I have a script that takes all the mail in spam folders (cur and new) and runs it through the learn process for Bayes. The Bayes filter is smart enough not to use the same mail twice. I just wonder if changing the subject line is hurting the Bayes evaluation. Any thoughts?
